This session will present a variety of strategies to develop cooperative learners, increase motivation for learning opportunities and reduce problem behaviors. Effective Teaching occurs when we have cooperative learners. Establishing cooperative behaviors are the best investment a teacher can make and is the foundation for effective instruction. Cooperation is the ultimate goal in the classroom. It is essential to create an environment where students will want to learn instead of comply to get away from instruction. Practical interventions for teaching appropriate communication, assessment as well as implementation of instructional targets within an appropriate skill sequence will also be discussed. Finally, a review of the essential skill sets to address various functions of behavior will also be presented.

Session includes ASL interpretation.
