Access to basic health care visits is a critical factor for an individual’s long-term health and well-being. However, for many parents and practitioners it can be extremely challenging to get children through a successful health care visit.  This challenge becomes even more significant when individuals have ASD or other developmental disabilities, often resulting in in parents foregoing any type of preventative health relative appointments for their children. This session will review practical considerations and guidelines for parents and practitioners to consider in order to increase success rates of cooperative responses for health related visits and procedures. Perhaps in some cases, even getting children to see the doctor’s, dentists, nurse’s office, or even the hospital as preferred places to visit.
